Hi, I’m Oriol. I am a veterinarian with over 20 years of experience in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of cardiac diseases in small animals.
I graduated in 1996 from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and, after my first years working in general practice and emergency medicine, I began a specialist training path in veterinary cardiology. I completed the residency program from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA) for the speciality of cardiology in Milan, earning the title of European Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology.
Throughout my career, I have deepened my skills in advanced diagnostics, obtaining a veterinary Master's degree in Diagnostic Imaging from the University of Murcia and a second human medicine Master's degree in Basic and Advanced Echocardiography from the University of Padua.
Alongside my clinical work, I am involved in postgraduate education, scientific research, and professional outreach in the field of cardiology, both nationally and internationally.
I work as a chief-senior clinician and consultant in clinical and interventional cardiology for a selected network of veterinary clinics in Italy and Switzerland.
In these settings, I contribute to the organization of the cardiology department, the management of complex cases, the development of shared protocols, and the specialized training of colleagues.
Second- and third-level referral center where I lead the cardiology and interventional cardiology service, as well as the European specialist training program (ECVIM-CA Residency Program).
I am responsible for the first- and second-level referral cardiology service, with a focus on advanced diagnostics and specialist consultation for complex clinical cases.
I collaborate as a veterinary cardiology consultant in the diagnosis and management of both routine and complex cardiac patients.
I serve as a cardiology consultant for clinical activity and the management of complex clinical cases. I actively collaborate in the shared management of cases with European board-certified specialists in internal medicine and surgery within the institution.
I provide specialist cardiology consulting and training in support of daily clinical practice and referral work, in close collaboration with the internal team.
I am the author and co-author of over 65 scientific articles published in national and international veterinary medicine and comparative medicine journals, focusing on clinical, interventional, and advanced diagnostic cardiology.
